Identify the style and control revisions
Give every style a unique style number and place it on each page of the tech pack. Include the season, product category, prepared date and revision number so comments, samples and quotations can be connected to the same version.
Maintain a revision log that records what changed, when it changed and which sample or approval triggered the update. Replacing a file without a visible version history can leave the factory and buyer working from different instructions.
- Style number and product name
- Season and target market
- Revision number and date
- Change log and approval status
Show construction and design details
Include clear front and back technical drawings, plus enlarged callouts for areas that cannot be understood from the main views. Mark neckline shape, strap width, closures, seam placement, boning, cups, lining, pockets, hems and train construction where applicable.
Reference photographs can communicate mood, but they should not replace written decisions. State which features are required and which are open to factory recommendations so the sampling team knows where it may propose alternatives.

- Internal support and lining
- Closures, seams and hem finish
- Detail callouts with dimensions
Specify materials, colors and embellishment
List each shell fabric, lining, interlining, mesh, lace, trim, zipper and label with its intended placement. Add supplier references or approved swatches when a specific quality is required, and separate confirmed materials from those that still need sourcing review.
For beading, sequins, embroidery or appliqué, provide artwork, placement dimensions, orientation and an approval reference. Confirm colors on physical materials when color accuracy is important because screens do not represent every fabric and finish consistently.
- Bill of materials
- Color names and approval references
- Embellishment artwork and placement
- Label and trim specifications
Define measurements, grading and tolerances
Provide the sample-size measurement chart with numbered points of measure and a consistent measuring method. Explain whether values are body or finished-garment measurements and identify the intended ease for fitted areas.
Add grade rules for the agreed size range and realistic tolerances for production checks. Harmony Gowns’ standard minimum is 30 pieces per color distributed across four sizes, so the final purchase information should also state the whole-number quantity required in each of those four sizes.

- Sample-size specification
- Grade rules and tolerances
- Four-size quantity breakdown
Connect approvals, labels and packing
List the samples and approvals required before bulk production, such as fit, color, fabric, embellishment and pre-production confirmation. Record approval dates and make sure accepted comments appear in the final production specification.
Include label artwork, placement, folding, individual packing and carton assortment instructions. Destination-market compliance text should be supplied and approved by the responsible buyer or importer before labels and packaging are produced.
